Welcome to the Competa Escapes blog page!
We hope our blogs help make your holiday special!
All things in and around Competa!
Each Competa Escapes blog focuses on all the wonderful things you will find on a holiday in Competa. We’ll chat about food, drink, culture, fantastic striking scenery and friendly, charming people.
Why holiday in Competa?
Competa is in Andalucía! It is an hour of East of Malaga and it is perfectly situated to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. The village has a wonderful backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, so you are never short of a stunning view. The village sits on a mountain side and really has something to offer everyone – hiking, biking, skiing, beaches and cuisine. Then there is the wildlife, photography, history and art so you can be busy! Though maybe you would prefer to simply be relaxing by a cool pool and do nothing. A holiday in Competa at one of the Competa Escapes holiday rentals are perfect for this – doing nothing feels great sometimes. The houses are close to all the restaurants and bars and we will tell you about those too.
What’s in a Competa Escapes blog!
We will bring you regular blogs on what’s good to do in the area. Things like the Rio Chillar falls, the Caves at Nerja, water parks and beaches. We’ll blog about brilliant restaurants, art galleries worth a visit, museums and much, much more. Sometimes we will take you back in time with a little bit of history thrown in like the history of Competa or the Lost Village of Achebuchal. Andalucía has a rich history and we will bring you tales of the Alhambra and other Arabic influences and explain how they relate to many places and features still in the area.
We’ll talk all things Spain, such as local fiestas and celebrations – always vibrant and a whole village affair. Competa’s Noche del Vino in August and the Feria in July are a wonderful mix of modern Competa and the traditions of the past.
We hope you enjoy reading the blogs as much as we enjoy writing them for you.
